Help with Pack frame for getting game out

I am looking forward to being able to go on some bear hunts this fall, but I dont know where a good place is to get a reasonably priced pack. Also, what would someone consider a reasonably priced pack? The biggest game I have harvested was whitetails back east so any advice would be appreciated.

I've got some black colored aluminum frames I bought at either Sportsman's Warehouse or Cabelas that we have packed deer, elk, and bear with. They were around $100 if I remember correctly. Those frames have served us well.

This is a good one, I have used it quite a few times.  I did cut off some of the upper tubing, even with the second cross bar to remove some weight that it doesn't need.  It is a very comfortable with heavy loads.

I have one of those Alaskan packs, I like it a lot & have packed out a ton of meat with it.

Yes, those alaskan freighter frames work pretty good.  They have shelf to hold the meat vertically. They flex some as well which is good.  Just make sure you look at the shoulder pads. 
1. There needs to be lots of padding
2. THe hip belt needs to fit on your hip bones.
3. There should be a chest strap to keep the shoulder pads together.

If you want a frame there are none that compare to bull-PACs out of Idaho 185$ and if you do break it which you probable never will they will overnight you another for free

+1 on bullpac.  It is all I use for packing.

x3 on bullpac, I love mine, I have two so whoever I get to help at least has a good pack also.  Everyone that has helped me pack has bought one of their own after using mine.  I have the one with the bench, they have a staight version also with no bench, I just prefer the bench.

The bench helps a lot while loading it a buddie of mine has the angled one and it always takes him longer to tie it down

I use a Cabela's frame.  The one thing I do that really works well is I have 5 straps about 6 feet long with plastic buckles.  I've found that a few individual straps work infinitely better than a long piece of rope or 550 cord.

check out wilderness packs they are a little bit more spendy. i picked one up at the sportman show this year. It is a day pack until you harvest an animal then you strip the bags and you have a light weight pack board fill it with meat then put your bags back on over it they filled it with a 100 pounds and it was very comfortable i walk around the show with it full. They designed these packs to put the weight on your hips and not on your shoulders and have a breathing area for your back my opinion get one they are good to like 400 pounds of meat

I've used the Cabela's Alaskan for years and have weighed loads in the 140lb range on it, been very sturdy. This year made the switch to a Stone Glacier Approach pack.  Will be able to use it as a daypack and not have to head back to the truck for my frame when it's time to start packing.
