Not your Grandpaw's Mini
« on: May 10, 2013, 07:27:10 AM »
I recently inherited a newer Mini 14 and, not being a fan of anything with a wood stock, decided to dress it up.  I like the way it turned out, looks mean.

Archangel Sparta stock
Aimpoint Comp M2
Foregrip with retractable bi-pod

Now I'm thinking I need one of those flash hiders with the crazy looking claw's on the end, ya' know incase the zombies come.

You need one of these for the end of your barrel. They eliminate 96% of flash from a weapon.

I have been 3 feet from a AR shooting with this and saw no real light.

That's a pretty cood vid, that hider sure does its job.  I'm thinking one more along the lines of this:

I"m a grandpa and my mini is still wood. Must be a grandpa thing.  ;) But nice job though.

I kind of think it is a generation thing. When I was a kid the M-1 Garand and M-14 were really cool rifles us kids idolized because of the WW-ll movies and Viet Nam. I liked the M-1 carbine, M-1 Garand  and M-14 so when I got my mini it was kind of a combination of three of my favorites in addition it shot the 223 that the M-16 shot that I also admired. So the mini kind of covered all the bases for me.

And this generation has been raised in a similar way with the M-16 and all its variants. It would be on my wish list too. I really like the M-4. Just can't afford one right now.

I've actually toyed with the idea of getting an M1 Garand. bad ass gun!
