new f-150's problems?
« on: May 14, 2013, 01:02:43 PM »
So looking at new trucks and the dealer of course told me "there are no problems with the Ecoboost or the 6 speed transmissions".. My internet research doesnt exactly point in the same direction.. So how many of you all have or have had 2009 or newer f-150's with these problems?

We've had some issues with the intercoolers on the Ecoboost trucks but they've updated them and the new trucks have the latest greatest parts in them. I've done a couple of them in the last few months, but the trucks were all '11's.

My dad has a 2012 with the EcoBoot, purchased it last August and I"m sure he's put at least 10k on it already. No problems

I have a 2012 ecoboost with 40k miles on it with no major issues yet.  I have noticed a couple of times a delayed shift during quick acceleration,  but it did not turn up any codes at the dealership.  I am very happy with the power towing.  :twocents:

I have a 2012 Lariat.  Mine had the intercooler issue at 6K and Ford fixed it.  I bought mine last March and only have about 8K on it, now.   Seems to be fine.  Pretty nice truck, tons of power.

You could do that with any manufacturer.
Just like bows, rifles, pistols, etc.

Remember it's not if a turbo gives you problems but when. stay on top of your oil changes and run quality oil for sure .
