A farmer's gun .................
« on: May 16, 2013, 11:00:16 PM »
Here's a gun only a farmer can really appreciate, but even some farmers may wonder why.  I got the bug to paint a stock and since I bleed green I figured my first paint job would have to be something John Deere.  My sons are more talented than me and my daughter-in-law is very crafty, so it became a family project.

We took one perfectly good Ruger 10/22, broke it down, put a fat barrel and a fancy stock on it.  Then I did a mock-up of what I wanted it to look like.  My son did most of the painting (I made a few token efforts) and my daughter-in-law made stencils and masks based on my ideas.
Disappointments are inevitable, misery is optional.

It's not perfect, but when we pulled off the tape and put it back together I was really happy with our family project.  Now, for the next one ……………..

You should send pics of that to John Deere, Im pretty sure this could become part of new marketing plans.  That is awesome!
