Maybe its your own fault for not hiding your property better before driving off and leaving it in a public place for so long.  Now your gonna be the a$$h@%# when innocent people drive across a nail trap. Thats not right. Makes you the bad guy.  Just hide your cam better and count it a lesson learned.
When i go to the woods i dont appreciate the idea of a bunch of cameras being hidden taking pictures of me.  Others probably feel similar. I can see where someone might take it or destroy it. Are there laws protecting your camera in public after you abandon it there?

"IT'S YOUR FAULT" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Whats wrong with you?  Its his fault that some criminal went into the woods and STOLE his camera? Its like saying everyone who gets a vehicle stolen is stupid because they left the engine in the car and left it unattended.  Ridiculous!

Sorry your camera got stolen op. Even more sorry people are giving criminals excuses.

You guys just don't get the liberal mantra:  No matter what happens, IT'S ALWAYS SOMEBODY ELSE'S FAULT!
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

I wouldn't necesarrily think it's the 4 wheelers fault. If you mount your cams like most people do 3 minutes is more than enough time to take it and get away. My cams are in a steel box, lag bolted and cabled to a tree. If someone gets it then they had to work for it.

There is a difference between realism and optimism.  If you think people won't eff with your stuff when they find it unattended you are bound to be disappointed.

I just accept the fact that people with steal them if they find them, then I put them where they will not be found.

I never put the camera on a road that can be accessed by Dirtbikes/4-wheelers.  Generally 50 yards either side of a road is pretty good but I like it best when there isn't a road for a 1/4 mile or so.  I generally do not get pictures of people on my game cams either but I like to put them on game trails that have blowdown etc, and require half and hour or so to access.

Somebeech, there is only one person who is responsible for a persons private property, thats the owner if he wants to keep his cameras, or any other property, then he needs to protect it. If he doesnt and it gets stolen then its his fault. Its a given that it will be stolen if people know where it is in public. You can count on it. So i am saying its up t him and him alone to secure it.  Just because its a camera doesnt make it exepmt from human nature.     You cant leave ANYTHING worth that much money in a public place and walk away for months, and then think its gonna be there when you come back, unless you secure it. Its not liberal mentality, its just how people are and how it is. Its reality.

Irresponsible, maybe. His fault absolutely NOT.

Will he learn from this experience, I'm sure. Blaming the victim of a crime is out of line in my book and a reason why this stuff is out of control. The criminal is the one that needs full blame and punishment!

I think it goes a little of both ways. If you put a cam out on public land you should be able to expect it to be left alone. However you did leave something valuable on public property and you are a bit naive to think that nobody will ever mess with it. I leave my cams hoping to get great pics, but I also expect to walk up and find one missing. Luckily that hasn't happened yet. That's the risk one takes.

Ok guys I have had some time to calm dowm and realize that the nail strip thing is wrong and just me blowning steam.I will be more careful how and where I put my cameras. It just makes me so angry to have someone take my stuff.
My next set up is in the same area but maybe a half mile off any trail that someone could ride a machine to.I dont mind the walk be jusy dont see as much sign there as on the trails that the critter like to use.As you guys can see there is alot of critters on the trail where the cam was taken.
Let me say to everyone the posted on this tread thanks for letting me express the rage I feel for this violation and not to worry if this is your country there wont be traps waiting for the theif or any other person that happens by.

That's good to hear.  I know a guy who got messed up pretty bad by a cable someone strung across a trail and I know alot of people who ride trails with there kids.  It sucks that a few people on bikes or quads make the rest look bad.  Unfortunately we have to take precautions (bear box's) to protect our stuff anywhere.  It is no different than having to lock your car at the grocery store:(

Old enough to know better.
Young enough to go for it.
