Call the Forest Service in Pomeroy-509-843-1891.  Ask them how far up you can get on RD 40, Mountain Rd.  I bet all the way over, but double check to be sure.

That access on the 40 road is your worst choice.  You have to go all the way to Misery junction to get to the Wenaha,  it is all Tucannon until you get to Misery, that makes a 30 mile drive out of Pomeroy.  Try getting in by Bluewood, I'm not sure if that area is open or not either but it is sure closer.  When you call the Pomeroy Ranger District get past the person that answers the phone.  My daughter used to work there and was a gem on the phone.  Ask for Bill Dowdy, Del Groat, Steve Carlson or Kenny Bott.

It's open, just covered in snow drifts. I was just there on Sunday.

Haven't been up there myself but the word before the weekend started was you couldn't get from Sunset to Misery because a stretch of the road was covered in drifts.
