4 pound mono

Is 4 pound mono to light of line for a 4 year old to use for trout? the biggest trout maybe 2 poundsits The pole is 6 feet long. We are going to be bobber fishing in the morning.

 maybe check out the spiderwire line? I think they have a 4lb diameter that equals a 40lb or so line.

I don't think it would be to light to use but since it's a 4 year kid I would use heavier line just so you don't chance loosing them. Good luck

I put some 10 pound test he will be good.

4lb is fine.   Just have the drag set properly.

I would make sure the 4# is decent quality fresh line with properly tied knots; not many trout in lakes around here will break it.

4lb is pretty adequate as long as your rod isn't too stout.  the only trout i've ever had break 4lb test have been when trying to try and flip them in the boat when i forgot to bring my net.  not really the line's fault.

4lb is fine buddy. Just set the drag, tighten it enough so u can pull it off the spool with a a decent amount of tension.
