The only thing I would add in is a post count minimum. So people who contribute on here can enter and not let just anyone come in and do the contest and then leave with 1 post.

post count minimum......my 95 posts may be minimal, but they all contain some amount of useful/relevant information and or interesting photographs.   Others with hundreds or thousands of posts jabber about C-post, bashing Bilbo, a 36 page love affair between D Rock and H20 Hunter on a Spring Bear Thread(Congrats H20 Hunter...way to get er done!) or endless babble about special draw results out.  Hitting "Post" doesn't necessarily qualify as contributing.

....no wonder the server is lagging.

Let's keep the elk calling contest open to people who can call.  Best caller should get the win :twocents:

Ok, next question is on the format.

Would you guys prefer "free for all" or "tournament bracket/head to head" format?

I think it depends on the quantity submissions.  Wasn't there around 20 last year?  Free for all was OK for that amount, but many more, might need a tourney.

I am not talking in any huge number like 25 posts. When someone with 1 post enters a contest put on for hw members and wins something. Only to never to be seen again I think that is not very fair to people on here. We have done it with other contests and I think it's fair for the members but that is my 2 cents.

No I stopped after BBD.  Thread for me completed once harvest took place.  Don't get me wrong, I love reading the journey, I just like them to be slighlty more concise and relevant to topic at hand....bear hunting.

Now to this topic.  Let's hear more details about this contest.  Length of calling sequence, date due, ect.

Bildo has got to join this year. He is the master.

J. Phelps himself doesn't even stand a chance. Lets just give the trophy to bildo now  :chuckle:

I will probably stick to a one minute sequence consisting of; 20 seconds cow/calf, 20 seconds bull, 20 seconds freestyle

Judges: I will probably try and get some "accomplished" judges.  I have recieved a lot of feedback on keeping the judging this way.

I need to also get prizes together.

So far I have confirmation from Corey Jacobsen, Joel Turner and Dirk Durham for judges.  Awaiting an answer from Paul.  That's a pretty good group.

That would make 5 judges including myself.  We will toss the high and low and average out the other three.

I'm thinking I will take submissions from July 8-22.  More details and info to come.
