Blazed Ridge Mt. Goat Tag
« on: June 20, 2013, 07:27:16 PM »
I drew the Goat tag for Blazed Ridge. .  I am not familiar with this unit at all, I've hunted Eastern Wash.(The Blues) all my life.
Any help, info, sighting would be really appreciated.  I got very lucky and drew the tag with only 7 pts.  I know where i'm going to spend all my weekends for the next several months, scouting like crazy.  I'm new to this site but have noticed how nice and helpful everybody seems to be, so anything anyone has to offer would be great and I will keep everyone updated on my scouting and hunting trips.   Thank You, Cory

If you put in as much effort as you are saying you'll do just fine. Congrats man.

But you'll definitely get some help around here. Good luck

I'd suggest getting a bow and trying to get one that way if you got the time.  Get up into the rocky peaks in that unit and stalk them.

I had 17 points and that should have been my tag  ;)  I have seen goats years ago riding horses up blazed ridge
on the way to Mt. Clifty and on the east side of Blowout Mtn

Found this guy tonight in your unit, got to easy bow range.  Sorry about the crappy pics, all I had was a crappy camera.  Nice goat though, think he might score pretty decent.

Thanks for all the help/info guys, keep it coming.  Father-in-law(he will be hunting with me) ran into town and picked up a map and marked out all the boundaries today.  Along with some serious scouting and all the tips you guys are giving me, this hunt should end in success.  Thanks again, Cory

I was up there last night and spotted 13 goats on one slope. I see them all the time there. Shoot me a PM closer to the season if you aren't getting on them. I've been putting in for that tag and am yet to be drawn, it's about time I see one of them go down.
