did he keep it? looks to me the flasher is still hangin next to the fish. so maybe he has yet to unhook the fish and just took it out for a quick pic then released it...although taking wild fish out of the water (when not legal to keep, or intending to release is also illegal)

nice fish though

Or holding by the gills and then releasing it  :bdid:

you guys need to stop freaking out, FALL KINGS on THE BIG C are ANY, yes ANY salmon because the fall fish are not fin clipped!! thats a slab of a fish, a little to dark for me but a nice king either way.. know the rules before you flame someone........

Id put that fish near 50 in the pic, here is me and a chrome fall king I caught 2 years ago.. she tipped the scales at 51lbs......

yes she did,a huge adipose fin!! and she also had huge fillets!!! that fish was a pig.... and mint chrome.. that one in then pic is big, but dark as hell, smoker worthy maybe, but personally she would have gone back, that fish made it past all of us and got up the river that far and is dark and ready to spawn.. let it swim.....

Hoytstaffshooter83 Exactly who are you directing that at? and who is flamming the fisherman? I hope your not implying me or I would ask you to start back at the begining and read the whole post! I'm not sure who you are talking about but it's hard to come in on the middle of a conversation without knowing the entire story here ... we allready went through this once on this post!

I did read the whole thing and im not talking about just you, people in general make statements online that are criticizing and most of the time wrong, like in this case where it is in no way illegal to keep a "native" fall king on the columbia.......

It's all cool I don't fish it therefore I am not examining the regs on that particular area I did know that there are times and areas that are open and again I don't have a problem with people keeping them when it's leagal to do so! I bet yours  :drool: tasted good! Nice Fish BTW!

understood... thank you. that was my biggest salmon ever, 2 years guiding in alaska never put me on a king that size, and yes it tasted amazing.. the fillets were id guess 3 in thick... just massive!!!

I guided on the nush for rainbow king lodge.. that was a nightmare to say the least.. I also guided on the unalakleet river and came home early due to family emergency.....
