This is an example of the mentality of animal-rights/anti-hunting organizations and individuals.

"PETA Asks City Officials to Place 5-Foot Chicken Statue at Crash Site

Posted on July 24, 2013

After a recent truck crash in Salem, Oregon dumped 5,400 chickens into a car dealership parking lot, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) asked city officials for permission to erect a memorial 5-foot, 250 pound chicken statue to be placed at the crash site.

That’s right; PETA officials sent a letter to Salem Traffic Engineer, Keven Hottman, asking if he would permit their 5 foot “crippled-chicken sculpture” which depicts a bloody chicken on crutches.

Are you shaking your head like we are?

In the letter to Hottman, PETA official Danielle Katz claims “the best way to prevent crashes such as this one is to go vegan, because chickens shouldn’t have to make the terrifying trip to the slaughterhouse at all.”

Go vegan, or abide by traffic laws and drive more safely as to avoid accidents?  We choose traffic laws.

The City of Salem and the Oregon Department of Transportation denied PETA’s request, determining that the statue would be a distraction and safety hazard."

The frightening thing about these organizations is that they survive off of financial contributions from the public.

Can you say wacko? PETA is losing touch with their base. The suits filed against them by other animal rights groups citing that they're euthanizing more than 90% of the "rescued" animals they take in (most within 24 hours of receiving them), is one reason. Moves like this are another. Freaking vegans - the Hezbollah of vegetarians.

That's the good thing, Jim. The more crazy they get, the fewer people who can identify with them.

I'm sure the car dealership would be thrilled to have that on their lawn.
