Tripod & head for spotting scope
« on: July 17, 2013, 11:32:43 PM »
Just purchased the 20-60x85 Razor HD. The scope is amazing. What tripod/head do people have good luck hunting with? I need something extendable to ~6ft.

I bought the vortex high country.  Great tripod.  Has a ball head with knob for lock down.  I will never get a tripod with the pan handle again.  Every time I try to lock down the sight picture moves. But not with the ball head
If its brown knock it down

I have the Vortex High Country. I'd be concerned with the size of that 85mm Razor scope on that tripod. Just a thought. It works great for my 20-60x60 Vortex Nomad.

That is a fairly heavy scope (nice one to).  Dont go cheap is my advice.  Manfrotto makes some nice tripods, I have one and really like it.  I went carbon fiber to cut a little weight.  Lots of choices out there.

I have a vanguard from cabelas for my spotter. Tripod amd head came together for $150 or so. Gets tall enough for me to stand. Doesn't pan like a fluid head will but plenty well for me. Buying the matching window mount next. They use the same base plate.
Huntnnws mannfrotto tripod and head are very nice!
