And the horrible part of it all is that if there was anykind of management in the first place, the two words release site would never be uttered,The release program was initiated to try and rebuild what once was, shoddy chicken farming practices beget the wind with Newcastles Diesease an airborne virus that kills poultry, pheasants are poultry and susceptible to it,it wiped the native population out,the quality of birds they planted back with didn't have enough wild genetics to survive on their own(those old enough will remember that it was roosters only in hopes of hens surviving). Its the same mickey mouse  type thinking that will never get the sharptails in eastern washington numbered up enough to have a season.Common sense not biology and skoolbooks is what is needed.Trap  adult birds from a state with huge numbers and transplant, transplant thousands not 10 pairs.

That huge increase decreased the number of fools in the fields, though.

I'd gladly pay the $90 if the release site wasn't a clear cut mud bog.

Plenty of dry ground out there if one ventures to the other 400 acres of the property
WE ARE NOT RELATED !!!

I bought my first Wet Side Chicken release tag in 15 years last year so I could put my dog on lots of birds every week. Was it a zoo? Absolutely! Was if fun..........yea in some ways it was exciting, but the cool thing was after a an hour or two....maybe three some days, almost everybody cleared out and you could hunt at your own pace following whatever path you chose.
At $90 the tag might seem a little pricy, till one compares it to driving to E. WA each weekend and or the cost of birds for training purposes.
It will never be closely comparable to hunting wild birds, but I'm glad to have it as an option.  It's also convenient for taking kids out because you know you're going to see some bird work by the dogs and you don't have to force march them for 4-5 miles to find birds.
“Just give me a comfortable couch, a dog, a good book, and a woman. Then if you can get the dog to go somewhere and read the book, I might have a little fun.”

I was out of town during the meeting. Does anyone have a positive news or know the outcome of the meeting?
