Dry Summer, Pray for rain
« on: July 24, 2013, 01:05:01 PM »
So with hunting season just around the corner and all the dry weather we have been having, will it be like last year with no hunting signs posted due to dry conditions? The reason I ask is because last year me and my hunting group ran into this very frequently especially the area we like to hunt in Kitsap county. So what my question is if this turns out to be like last season, where would go hunt to stay legal. Last year someone suggested the Green mountain area in Kitsap county because its county land and they didn't close it. Unfortunately for my group it was the end of the early muzzle loader season before I could go and scout the Green mountain area. This year we hope to have backup plans in case that happens agian like last year. So does anyone know if county lands would in fact close due to high risk of fire? A little help here please.

Thanks for the help,

Natas

I have never seen state land get closed up.

IT did in, I think, 1987. But not recently that I know of.

Thanks for the replies all I really do appreciate it. The normal area I hunt is on pope and talbot land and like I said there were signs all over the place at the gates of high fire hazard keep out. I was just wondering what everyone else did last year after the dry summer and if they ran into the same signs as I did. Again thanks for the help guess we will be scouting state lands as a backup plan as well as doing a rain dance. If anyone else has input on this please post.
