A friend gave me some elk meat and I grilled the burger tonight. First time I ever had it. Pretty good. I didn't tell my 8 year old grandson what it was and he ate 2 of them. The best part was that he to my wife that my "hamburgers" were better than hers!
elk burger, real bacon bits, gorgonzola or blue cheese. A-1 steak sauce...mix it all up then put in smoker....

I've had my elk burger made with only 5 to 10% pork fat, but next time I'm going with no fat at all.
that is a great story.our kids have grown up on Venison and Elk.we had left over beef that someone brought over one weekend for the grill and they wouldn't eat it.
