a good hunt
« on: October 21, 2008, 11:35:35 PM »
well my deer season has gone pretty good so far seen a lot of good bucks so far i hunt in a 3 point or better unit havent seen a none shooter yet . well i missed my shoot at a really nice 4x5 whitetail i misjudged the distance he was the largest of 4 bucks feeding on a hillside not once but two times. this miss happen the second day of the season didnt run them out of the area seen them the next day in the same spot.didnt have a good shot at any of them so i let them go. well i thought since i have seen about 10 to 12 shooters in the area wouldnt have a problem filling my tag.well i have neighbor who moved in beside us about a month after wee moved in last year when we found out we both liked to hunt we hit it off really well . last year couldnt get him in to where i hunt early season so we hunted the late hunt didnt do any good. this is the kind of neighbor that every one wants if you got car problems he can help help around the place he helps when you try to give some money for his time he just says that what neighbors are for. well i decided to take him in to my spot this fall my other hunting buddies wrent thrilled but i didnt care. well i took him to my spot where i had missed my buck we hadnt been there more than 20 min. when he spots his first buck i am sitting right next to him got a tree right in front of me so i move about 20 yards to his right to take a peek on the other side of the canyon i cant spot him about that time he see's another buck cant see him he caps off a round says he missed shots a second time says he hit him. so i tell him to go check for for blood so down and across he goes we have radios so i put him on the spot he found blood and started to trail him chased him up the the hill to right in front of me i put a shot in to him and down he went. well since he saw him first put the first shot in him the deer was his . this was his first whitetail he came from the the west side of the state.great time with a new hunting buddy.

A few comments, number one those are some good donuts :chuckle: two that bedliner is entirely too clean, and three that is one weird ass looking rack on that deer. Congrats though.

#4 looks like you were able to back your four wheeler right up to your truck and unload it.
