« on: July 28, 2013, 05:17:13 PM »

Had the little collar on for the first one off on the next two :dunno:

There is a recall on Easton axis arrows right now.  You might contact them and get reimbursed or?

Mushrooming a 300 spline arrow while impacting a solid object isn't normal? No sarcasm I am serious. All I shoot is the easton Axis and Cabalias stalkers and when they hit a tree or a 2x4 they do that.  :dunno:

Ive had lots of arrows do this. Missed a few targets in my time and struck the ground, almost always guaranteed that the arrow is done for.

My 340 ics hunters and pro huntefs take it like nothing ever happend. So I think its a joke to spend that money on a arrow that does that but thats my .02

They pass thru my target and hit the 2x4 behind doing this. Like I said my other arrows can do the same or even be shot right into the board and not break.

I shoot 340 spline st Axis without issue. I've unthreaded arrows from field tips stuck in a tree before. Same with a judo point in a stump. Just leave the tip in the wood.

The recall does not include the n-fused line of arrows. However I think very few arrows are designed to withstand (especially at todays speeds) an impact with solid wood. Sounds to me like the problem isn't necessarily your arrows, but your target not stopping your arrows. I use these same arrows and think they work great. I went down to my local feed store and bought a couple hay bales. Cost me about $10, sure beats blowing up arrows. Good luck

I font get why they will fail where a cheaper arrow doesnt. Ive dont the same with my other arrows with out a problem shooting the same speed. Im shhoting a bowtech insanity 30" fraw 73lbs and I really need a 300 spine, the only arrow in town are the axis. Looks like its time to order some gold tips again cause ive tried to break them and couldnt short of a robin hood or steel plate.

Yeah I hear ya there. I have done that with cheaper Cabela's brand arrows. Admittedly though I have not shot my n-fused into wood so I don't know on that. I am serious though if you are getting pass throughs on your target with that much force still behind it, I think I would be putting up a backstop and looking for a new target to stop those arrows better.

The only target I hqve found that stops my bow is a fiepd point only which doesnt help when I shoot my broad head.  My broad head will squirt out the back of my target from 40yds so up close thers no chance it will stop them.

What kind of target do you use?

ive tried a bunch of broad head targets havent got enough money to pick up a Rinehart yet but ive tried everything but them and the biggest block  big block targets out. Have tried cross bow targets and after a couple shots its going right out the back.
