First Hunt.

Heading out next weekend to get in my first hunt, with another member on here.
Going to head out for a bear or two.

I've read over the rules to check my own suspicions but It seems bears rules are a little different so Ill leave the answers to you guys.
My questions are......

1. Being still early August, am I (we) required to wear orange?
2. Can one person hunt rifle, and one person hunt archery (me)?
3. If I purchase a bear tag now, will I be able to buy a second bear tag for later in the season? I'm aware I'm only allowed 1 bear in both eastern and western territory. But do I need a multi-season tag or anything fancy like that?
4. When choosing east/west tag, does that really only apply for Elk? I heard even If I put in for my bear tag now, that I will still be able to hunt deer In eastern WA where I planned to originally.
5. Any last tips for successfully harvesting a bear this time of year?

4. Last I hunted there choosing e vs w for your elk tag has no bearing on a bear tag or vice versa (not that you have to pick a side for bear)
5. Bring a cooler with some ice. Bear meat spoils quicker than deer so I would plan on getting the temp down ASAP esp for an August hunt.

Awesome bean thanks for the info. I just kinda needed some confirmation. I know the rest of the seasons are so strict.
My partner wants to take his rifle, and I want to take my bow. I think were going to do 2-3 day hunt.  I'm stoked. I'm excited to just get out in the woods!

If you can't find anything specific for bear (which you probably will), it is pretty much the same as deer. I hike a bear at least 6 miles so i have to bone out the bear. It is super easy even for your first time http://hunting-washington.com/smf/index.php/topic,37569.0.html

Looks like main priority is just getting the skin and all the fat cut off to help cool the meat.

I learned how to process off of this video. Money well spent. With the exception of caping a buck, it has everything you want to know about deer processing. Most of it can be incorporated for a bear.

Those big bears don't leave a good blood trail all the time. The fat is known to block the wound and the coat soaks some up too. If you study the sticky under the bear section on here you will see your aiming at a spot a little bigger than a softball. Wait for the bear to step foward or present with a quatering away shot to slip the arrow in behind the front leg.

Good luck to ya on your first bear hunt, Im headed out Monday for my fist bear hunt. Hopefully I can remain the hunter not the hunted
