Desert Wind Retrievers
« on: June 17, 2013, 09:03:39 PM »
Anyone have a lab from Desert Wind Retrievers out of Ephrata? Thinking about putting a deposit on the litter from Pearl/Boone. Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I have trained retrievers in Washington for the past sixteen years and I have never heard of them.

There are no health clearances listed on their website that I can find and no pedigrees.  I would never buy or recommend a liter that didn't have both.

The "information" on their homepage was written by someone who knows little about retrievers or are just flat lying.  The more I look at it the more it looks like a potential puppy mill.

I certainly would not recommend.

Feared by ducks, envied by fellow hunters and loved by dogs

 :yeah:

xdog has given sound advise.  The dog you get is not only a financial investment, but a time investment.

Go to the Gundog section and do a search.

My buddy is selling his dog for $1,000. 10 Month Black lab. He is retrieving multiples, force fetched and started on the back pile and three handed casting. Dog has been started by Jim Gonia. Is not going to make a competitive field trial dog but, with certainty will be an outstanding hunting and/or hunt test dog. Has that much $$ in training. PM me if you're interested. He's a good looking pup from an excellent breeding. Nothing wrong with the dog in any way, shape or form. Owner is just looking for a competition dog which will win.

He may take a little less $ if pup goes to a good home which will be hunted and loved by some kids.
