clearcuts sprayed with herbicides.
« on: August 02, 2013, 02:10:02 PM »
Yesterday And Today I Hunted Cuts That I Did Last Year That Were Full Of Sign.  Mainly Deer, But Some Bear.  To My suprise, The Were Marked Danger Do Not Enter.  Everything In Them Was Dead. tThey Had Been Treated For(English Breakfast) It Said On The Sign.  Anyone Else Ever Run Into This?  I Didn't Even See A Chipmunk, And All The Birds Where Flying Over Not Landing At all :bash:
My Concern Is What Happened To All The Animals That Lives There And Eat The Sprayed Vegetation?
I Suppose If I Called The Number On The Sign They Would Tell Me It's Not Toxic To animals :dunno:  But If That's The Case Why Would They Post Danger Keep Out?

  SO FRUSTRATING

I always wonder about what those chemicals do to the wildlife.  Seems to me that burning was a much better for the environment but I don't think they are allowed to burn any more so they had to go to using Roundup and the like.
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

That is standard practice for clearcuts.  Weyerhauser, DNR, and all the rest.

burning is the best way and it promotes awesome browse the following year, birds pay the ultimate price alon g with grouse who love to feed on old alder roads, well now they wack the alder and spray the bushes, and from what i have seen they came up with a chemical that will kill alders now so they dont have to go and cut them down  :twocents:

It weakens their immune systems and is partly responsible for hoof rot in my opinion  :twocents:

Its for all scrubs....alder, vinemaple, poplars, thistle, you name it....anything that competes with seedling reprod for sun and water...............best advice, move on....hunt somewhere else for a couple years.  Critters move out if they can.........not good stuff for us or them.   :twocents:
