pack forest results from saterday.
« on: August 05, 2013, 09:06:42 AM »
I set out for pack forest about 4am.got there at 5am. Got all my gear on and was about to start my hike when the strap on my binos came loose and there they hit the ground.now when in focus I were two of the same object.not cool.so I continue on up the trails and get to the edge of the fog but didn't find the clear cut I was looking for.thanks Google earth lol.what I did find was a nice 4 point buck.if only season was open lol.no bears not signs yet.get down the back side of trail to the dirt road and my stomach dropped. Stumble about 15 yard of this wolf and he just stared at me.pointed my shotgun at him and he took off. Finally found a sign on the other side of the road.bear scat.sat on that berry field for a few hours calling but no bear. Just about to call it quits till a coyote came out about 150 yards.just for grins I tried and missed.

May have been a hybrid I know a few people that live around there and a lot of complaints went to animal control about a guy with several hybrids getting out of there kennels and eatin chickens.
Now then, get your equipment—your quiver and bow—and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.  Gen. 27:3

No wolves there, just a few hybrids with a not so friendly attitude mostly on the Eatonville side.
I hope you find out the truth soon , so as I can watch it consume  you.

What we all think is no wolves, too unlikely.  But one day soon they will actually be there and here and everywhere else.  What day will that happen?  Yesterday?  :dunno:

sounds like you were hunting bears in a closed unit. doesnt open till mid august. that area has gotten really thick over the past few years to do much of anything. done a lot of hiking this year and havent seen any bears this year yet. please chech your regs though. cant wait till the areas open up to head to mt adams and hit up the huckleberry patches. kick back and eat bearries while watching for bears, you cant beat it.

Maybe because you basically said you tried to shoot a coyote and missed and therefore he deducted that you were out scouting with your shotgun and based on that it "sounds like" you were hunting.  :dunno: He sounded like he was only informing you in case you didn't know lol.

This is in a bear hunting section on the forum, you opened up another thread asking where it was open for bear and someone told you pack forest, and now you have this thread saying you tried and didn't see any. Scouting or not, it sounds like he was just informing you it wasn't open yet, don't get so defensive  :)

wasnt meaning anything by it. just saying since you poste under a bear section not coyote section. but you do seem pretty defensive over not so much.

this does sound like you were after bears though the way it was written. from your post

In this same line of thought, is it legal to hunt bears in Washington with an electronic call? I've looked in the regulations, and I've only been able to find a passage that says it is illegal to hunt deer and turkey with an electronic call. It says nothing about bear and predators. I take that to mean it is ok to use one. Am I off base here?
