While this may seem harsh - life isn't fair - get over it - and where politics is involved suggest all need to sit down and ponder the ramifications of some of these actions.
I personally could care less about a person walking in a store open carrying..and am dam tired of political correctness these days.
BUT that said, this goes back to winning the hearts and minds of those ignorant of guns that may sway a vote.
When I say ignorant - understand that there are many who simply have had no first hand personal exposure to firearms, ever.
All their opinions are based on what they have seen and heard on television. They are otherwise intelligent individuals
puttering away at decent jobs blithely unaware of the contrasting reality and many are open to learning. This is where we come in.
We can show up dressed to kill and scare the gee willikers out of them and their kids or present it in such a way that engages them positively.
I have seen it time and again at Project Appleseed and my wife's experience with The Well Armed Women echoes that sentiment.
Yes, there are many that literally believe a gun is the equivalent to a bomb that can 'just go off' and shoot people. I didn't believe it either until talking to these people in person. Naturally they assume (I have to reach deep to fathom how ignorant they are) children would be the first hit..or the dog cradled in their arms. They walk among us..well, not among the crowd I hang with but my point is they are out there and vote. Education is more subtle and works better with large crowds IMHO than bludgeoning or getting in their face.
Most important is educating the few and turn them into a force multiplier....because I REALLY don't like talking to
their peers..my druthers are they do it.

We have turned the debate into a joke. Yes, we are all responsible.
A tactical victory is never worth a strategic defeat. In the end this has hurt us in a battle where we are making progress.
We have lost ground due to tomfoolery, chicanery, and general shenanigans. If we don’t get on the same page, we will continue to give up ground.
One internet poster said: “I never believed Starbucks was an ally anyway.” I would say he may be right. They weren’t. They are an outfit that sells coffee. Period. They just had a policy that wasn’t restrictive, and followed local law. They were unwillingly and unwittingly co-opted by the “rabid gun movement” people, and literally thrust on the national stage in the midst of a highly charged debate without their consultation on the matter.
This is why we can’t have nice things.
Don’t blame Starbucks, and don’t blame liberals. Blame stupid gun owners.
Look in the mirror, own it, give yourself a pep-talk, and go fix it.
Practical takeaway: Just because you CAN doesn’t always mean you SHOULD.
