2004 Spike bull
« on: August 01, 2013, 01:38:08 PM »
Figured i'd throw this picture up. My second spike and by far the biggest. Think i was 14 at the time. First time hunting off on my own and i'm sure my dad freaked out when he heard me shooting.

Nice job, yummy

Awesome pic!! Congrats on a dandy bull. That rifle has a very solid reputation for being tack drivers. The ole 30-06 is hard to beat. Killed my first spike with a '06 in 2006. Is that a Yakima bull?

Yeah Yakima bull. Was my first big rifle. Definitely one I'll never part with.

Just wondering you said shooting how many times did you shoot.  One shot looks pretty perfect to me.

That was the first shot. Second was an inch left of the first and he fell. Third was back of the head after he went down. Shoot til he drops is how I hunt. And fortunately he dropped after the second cause another 20 yards and some other guy was right there. East side elk hunting for ya.
