A couple great looking bucks for sure . I am a meat hunter and a Washington State sportsman so generally the first legal animal gets it. I may not even hunt this year though as both my kids drew anterless tags  :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL:. I am far more excited to see them get a chance than to harvest one myself. I may just stick to guide for deer season and save my shooting for coyotes.

Is someone wanting to shoot a mature buck not a sportsman?  :chuckle:  :dunno: Seems to me that the mature bucks also have the most meat.

Great looking bucks. FYI, meat hunters are the original sportsman. If it weren't for them, we wouldn't have any deer to hunt.

Ahh, id argue that trophy hunters have done far more than by standing "meat" hunters.... But thats a whole diff topic.

Very nice bucks sir, good luck hunting them trophies!

I believe that all of us as hunters have a desire to see the game animals we love to hunt/eat, flourish. "Trophy" hunters help manage the animals just like meat hunters do. If a "meat hunter" shoots the first thing that walks in every time, would that be in the best interest of the herd? What if they take the young doe that has YEARS of producing more animals and leave the old doe that has very few years left, is that good management? Whole different topic on that though. Shoot straight this year guys

Original meat hunters killed animals regardless of season,  motivated only by need of meat........no sportsmanship about it.....and in some cases, meat hunters still take game without consideration for laws.  :twocents:

Whats the point of this post.  Awful ignorant for you to say something like that.  I love seeing other peoples opinions but I don't like to read statements that are as bold as this without an ounce of facts.  So maybe we should all get rights like the Indians and "meat hunt" as they do, that way our game populations grow and grow.  I hope your meathunting ways suite you, but nothing wrong with a guy enjoying the trophy side of the hunt. :bash:

That is complete bull. I was a meat hunter most of my life, and I obeyed the laws. I didn't start hunting trophies until about 5 years ago. Soooo, meat hunter for 25 years, and a trophy hunter for 5 years. So with your "LOGIC" all meat hunters care about is filling the freezer regardless of laws or selective harvesting? The deer and elk populations at the turn of the 20th century were almost non-existent due to overkilling by starving families during the depression. If it weren't for families wanting to carry on the hunting tradition, then the herds would have never come back from the brink of extinction. My grandfather tried raising me as a killer and not a hunter. I will admit breaking laws with him while I was underage, but I didn't consider it "Hunting", but rather "Killing". I'm the first to admit when an area has been decimated.

Just my  :twocents:
