Feel sorry for all you Captains
« on: August 11, 2013, 10:45:04 AM »
Salmon for Soldiers

I feel sorry for all you boat captains who did not take out some of our young men and women vets at the Salmon for Soldiers event at Everett Saturday.
My fellow Viet Nam vet captains  remember how we were treaded when we got back to the world. You should have seen the faces on the vets this day, there was nothing but smiles and thanks for take us out.
I wish I was better with word to tell you all what it felt and mint to the captains that were there.  The people and sponsors who would just come up to you and ask what can I do to help.
Don't let next years event go by with out you.   You will thank me for it if you go.

The Outdoor Line on 710 ESPN Seattle and the Take a Warrior Fishing foundation are presenting the 1st Annual “Salmon for Soldiers” fishing event in Everett, Washington on Saturday, August 10th. What better way to say THANK YOU to our young wounded veterans than to spend a great day fishing with them on the Puget Sound.

See you there next year

It was a blast for sure, the guys were awesome, I was very proud to be a part of this event as a boat owner.  Again, my hat is off to Randy for doing what he did to make this happen.  He and his wonderful wife Penny were totally the best in all regards.

Regards,  Mike

As not a boat owner or captain it was a pleasure to do this. I'm glad my buddy Drew agreed to what I put him up to since he owned the boat LOL.  I know he had a great time too. I can't wait to do it next year. Thanks again to Randy, thanks to all the sponsors and businesses who helped, and thanks to all the wounded warriors for coming out.

This was one of the greatest days I have ever spent on the water. My wife Diana and I were honored to be one of the boats. It was our pleasure to give back to these fine young American Heros who have given so much. The friendships will continue far beyond just a day of fishing. I know I was beaming each time a rod went down and a fish came on board. To see the look on their faces and to hear the excitement was pure pleasure for us.

Thank You again Randy, you can rest assured Fish4Fun is already on board for next year

It was a great day on the water with the 2 young men that fished with us. We are now friends for life.
I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I'm not!
