where ya fishing?

I fish the hell outta curlew and never hooked one, had a bunch of follows right to the boat even.  I'd even do the old figure 8 every thing short of clubbing them  :chuckle:

then I see an older feller pull one in with a gang troll and wedding ring tipped with a worm  :dunno:  He didn't even know what he had and stuck his hand down the fishes throat to get the hook out  :o

ya he was leaving a blood slick all the way to shore

Spinner baits, bucktail spinners, rapalas with heavy leaders near the wood & weeds. pliers & net maybe gloves, they're pretty slimey.
I have Man Chit to do

We do well at Tapps on occasion with big yelow furry spinners. Trick is finding them.

The trick is getting them to bite.  Keep changing up your presentation and always do a figure 8 (or 2 or 3) at the boat before pulling the lure out of the water.  They follow lures a lot more often then they hit them.  They have a well earned reputation for being "the fish of a thousand casts".

When you find them, keep returning to the area through out the day. They may not be active in the morning but by noon or 3:00 pm the bite might turn on.

The last one I caught was on a 4-inch green pumpkin curly tailed grub while bass fishing  :chuckle:
