Seekins AR
« on: August 13, 2013, 10:30:33 PM »
Just finished building a custom AR in .223 Wylde.

Components:
Magpul stock
Seekins billet lower
Seekins billet upper mcrs
Seekins 12" mcrs hand guard
Rainier arms 18" ultramatch stainless barrel 1-8
Gisselle ssa-e trigger
Young national match bolt carrier
Rainier arms xtc compensator
Vortex PST 2.5-10 scope

Very happy with customer service from seekins and rainier arms. Will be providing range report soon. Manufactures claim .5 moa. I am curious to see what pill works the best, I keep hearing good things regarding the 77 grain SMKs. Any load information would be appreciated.

I have shot the Mk 262 ammunition (77 SMK) thru that same barrel and it is capable of 1/2 MOA with no wind and provided the bullet hasn't gone trans sonic.

Nice rifle

HSM 77gr MatchKing factory loads shoot sub .75 for me all day long.
I use a regular A2 stock for a more repeatable cheek weld.

The only problem i have seen shooting the 77smk in an AR platform is the magazine limits seating depth of the bullet. Other than that i would start with RE-15 or varget, unless your loading from a dillon then i would try and find a ball powder that will meter more consistantly.
Seekins makes great stuff  have fun!
I started dry heaving and gagging so bad. I about puked up my daily dose of Redbull.
