Wose, I'd say the number one thing I have learned is to spend as much time in the woods as possible. Also try to go the extra mile, or the extra 100 yards through the thick stuff no one else will go through. This is my third spot I have located bulls by doing this. I feel like there is elk sign everywhere on the west side once you find it trace it back to a feeding, drinking, bedding, or area with rut sign. Then as far as the trail cam ( I am a real novice here) I just put it in a spot that had multiple trails going to a spot I seen they had been feeding. Hope this helps!
