Teanaway Elk Herd
« on: October 24, 2008, 12:16:01 AM »
Last weekend my brother and I were out in Teanaway for a last ditch mulie hunt when we spotted this huge herd of elk out in a field on our way up.  They were on private land just off Teanaway Rd.  Someone said they counted upwards of 16 bulls in the herd.  There are a couple nice ones in there.  Just thought I'd share a few pics since I am relatively new to the site.  I have several more.  We even shot some short video and caught the large bull mounting a few of the cows.

They are about 20 yards north of the boundry of the 3911 unit. Even if they were in 3911 wich they usually are when snow flies, it is near impossible to get permission to hunt on the property. It is an amazing sit in the winter to go over there and see 20-30 bulls hanging out over there. I have even tried to get permission to hunt sheds but no luck.
