new hunter

we went out to 18 today and nothing. first time hunting . any ideas, would really be nice thanks guys. I live in duvall wa

Any gate is a "good" gate. Bear are where you find them, there's honestly not a secret besides putting in your time. Focus more on the "hunting" and less on the "getting" patience and persistence will get you your bear ;)

Be careful where you're hunting on 18.  I believe some areas are restricted  :dunno:

I believe you're right, although I can't remember where the restricted areas are. The gates are pretty clearly marked though, so make sure to read em :) Was up in that area today for a little while, saw lots of bear sign, and possibly even more people including some folks with their kids that though they would offer to tell me what a horrible person I was for hunting and how I should be executed for participating in such an " inhumane activity"  :yike:

Now that's funny.  I hear that a lot too.  I think the north side is restricted up to 90.  Last time I was up there not all the gates were marked

the north/ west side in no rifle .

on another note why come down here your area has WAY more bear, 18 has very low low numbers.

went to lake kachess foe the weekend and was on usfs road 4828. lots of *censored* about 1 day old. going back this weekend. a deer hunter told me that he saw really fresh sings.  so I hope to get one this weekend. :bash:
