And the cheaper synthetic plain Jane blue standard barrel for about 200.
Just for a price reference

I have 2 .17 HMR's, a cheapie blued composite stocked Savage, and a classy CZ.  The Savage is just as accurate as the CZ, and a LOT cheaper!
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

You could probably get 2 Savage .17 HMR's for $309.00.  Incidently, I bought my CZ .17 HMR with scope for $300.00.  (Don't buy a rifle from a benchrest shooter unless you plan on doing some readjustment on the trigger pull.)   :chuckle:

no sweat man, thanks for throwing in the extra ten spot.  as ive said my rifle went back to the factory for some tuning.   when i get it back it will be up for sale ( after i test it ) if anybody is interested.  it was having some extraction issues but im assuming the good folks at savage will make things right.   if anybody is looking for one of these just pm me and ill get back to you as soon as my weird ass job makes it feasible.

Was your bolt hard to close when loaded ? Mine is. I called Savage and was told that was normal.

Funny you said CHEAPER and not less expensive. No comparison to CZ but you get what you pay for.

Yes, the Savage is CHEAPER, in more ways than one--the CZ is a lot nicer, and well made, but no more accurate than the Savage.  Of the two, I prefer to shoot the Savage.  And I can't really say why!  :dunno:
