Ya!! We turn 400-650 a day bolt guns with 17M2 and 17 HMR. With Auto's you can turn near a 1000 a day but yer finners get sore loading the mags. Center fire we turn 200 plus a day on PD's. But it is sure good practice, makes the 200-400 yard shots on deer or Elk look a lot better.

Have notified 3 local gun shops that I want one, and it appears even the HIGHest priced one in Moses Lake , can't come up with one. Maybe by Christmas ? MSRP less than 340, and nobody pays MSRP. Or shouldn't . IMHO.

I have seen them for sale at WalMart. I think I was in Idaho at the time. Haven't checked around here.

If you guys are really going to buy the gun, I'd buy all the ammo you see in the stores.

big r in colville has ammo for it.  i just bought 10 boxes from them, left about 10 more for the next guy

How much per box ? I paid $17.99 at Clarks for 2 boxes.

yeah same price, i bought the only two boxes they had for me at clarks, where i also got the gun.  they had the 25grain.  big r has 20 & 25 grain, one is 16.99 and one is 17.99 per box

This gun is the biggest firearm disappointment I have had. This new savage b model makes aR ed Ryder look like a Cooper. Stock is pathetic and accu trigger is a joke. I am sure this cartridge will be devastating on the little vermin but savage definitely dropped the ball on fit/finish and quality. With some work maybe it will group close to a 17HMR.

I feel the same way. Savage could of made a better gun, but I know they did it to keep prices down on them.
I noticed right away that the gun wasn't up to most peoples expectations in the craftsmanship fields. It still shoots pretty good for what it is.

I have put about 120 rounds thru it. Removed the accu joke trigger and it's starting to get a little better. I'll give it a few hundred more rounds before I call it quits.  The gun does shoot better after every cleaning. I think the barrel did not have a real good finish. The 20grn shoot much better than the 25. Have not tried the 20 grn hollow point yet.
