The Wharncliff style was developed as a wood carving knife. It's become popular in the custom knife world as a more combat style and artsy syle blade.
I was impressed with the pure cutting ability of the flat edge rounded spine, Whatever you come against with this blade gets CUT! So, I built up #19 as an extreme ergonomic Wharncliff style, Hunting / Camp knife.
It's 8670 Tool Steel, from 1/4" Stock, with a tapered tang. The grips are brass bolstered and pinned and tubed, and wear African Elephant Ivory spacers with Desert Ironwood Burl Scales and silver carbon spacers.
Overall length is 8" and half of that is cutting edge.
