7.62 Nagant
« on: September 04, 2013, 03:14:11 PM »
Went to the range to burn up some powder and picked up all the spent brass and Hope someone here can tell me about a caliber I haven't heard of before.
Is anyone here familiar with the 7.62 NAGANT?  If so fill me in on what it would be used for from the looks of the brass and the 2 loaded cartridges it looks like it wouldn't even be good for varmints. Flat nosed and recessed completely into the brass.
Although it looks like the brass could be used for a 22cal centerfire round just have to do some neck sizing. the brass is 1.5 inches long and as said before the 2 rounds that I found that were loaded the bullet is completely recessed into the brass.

Wazuki Thanks for the link to the info.  So it is a handgun caliber surprise surprise surprise The case is about the length of a 357 but much smaller in diameter. To each their own but seems like a waste of good money to purchase something like this over even a 38Spl unless you want it for the novelity

In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

Ya, pretty much for the Russian collector or for novelty.  They can be had for about $100
