Wet in Colville.
« on: September 07, 2013, 02:36:02 PM »
Had to come in to town and buy a heater. Have a killer canvas tent. But wet in side good to go now. Been here since Weds night. Tough hunting. Going to hunt different area tomorrow. Have only tried calling three times. Lots of thunder storms. Well got my heater heading back into the woods raining. Rick

Yeah Rick, who would have figured you should have stretched a tarp over that canvas on the east side of the state in September?  :dunno:

I seen a huge bear - but couldn't get in on it with a bow so today I ditched the bow and took out the call where I'd seen it last night

no luck but I got the itch

had two boys with me, they did great sure wish we coulda tipped one over.

wonder if wolves run out the bear?

found tons of ripe thimbleberry and huckleberrys in some prime bear area but no bear scat  :dunno:\

was water nearby and dark timber to hide in,  cool breeze even during the heat of summer

seen lot's of wolf scat - pretty sure I was within a mile of a den

Hauled the boat fishing this morning and had a bear trot across the road in-front of me!! Left the 270 at the house.
Oh well season is still early and still to warm to want to deal with one.

Hey Campstool If I had known you were coming to my side of the hill I would have hung around.   :IBCOOL:

have seen it a couple of times so far this summer.

KF 2 weeks ago there was one sitting on the bank across from your Dad's place early in the morning!!
