« on: August 11, 2013, 08:18:08 PM »
Went and fished a lake not known for Kokanee's but there are some.

Hit the water around 8 this morning and was off before it got hot around 10.

Sorry for the "Dink" it was a Bleeder.

I smoked up a load of 54 kokes last weekend. Filled up 5 one gallon freezer bags with smoked Koke meat!
I agree, they are my favorite fish along side BBQed fresh Stealhead.

Lookin' real good there, Ridgeratt.  How are they going into the pantry?  Canned, smoked, frozen, etc?  Pretty hard to get them past the grill to a canning jar, I bet!

Right now they seem to hardly make it past the BBQ. I'm going to give it another chance this weekend to see if I have gotten them figured out. Had an audience this last weekend had a boat just out of my slick following me almost turn for turn. He was struggling and never did boat a fish. The last fish he asked me where did I catch it? Told him under your boat!!!  :chuckle:

I guess I get lucky now and then!   :dunno:

Well took my cousin this morning out to show him how to catch them!!!
The Q-tip and I showed up and he met us at the dock!

First thing is that Dawg isn't going is she?
Answer: Yes before you get in the boat she is!!!

So now we have that settled. So off we venture. Even after I tell him what he needs he shows up with lord knows what and then he struggles fishing. But I guess when your almost 80 you really don't have to listen.

So he starts using his stuff and I have 2 in the boat.  Well he is giving me grief thinking perhaps I have told a few  stories about time frame. Well 2 hours later I have 5 in the boat and done
I rigged him up after the first 2 in the boat and let him use some gear. He is telling me it's all wrong.
He would get a fish on and lose it just behind the boat.

So we continue to try to get him tagged out. Took close to 3 1/2 hours for him to catch the last 3. But now he is off to the store to go after them maybe tomorrow.

I guess one good thing is it will be a secret!!
Just Him, Me, and anyone else he can talk to!!!

When I was leaving the launch he was already talking to some folks on the dock!!
Reaching in the cooler.   :chuckle:

Sounded like show and tell.
