Unit 124 Deer hunting
« on: September 06, 2013, 09:12:46 AM »
Hey guys,  I have a nephew (13 years old) that always wanted to shoot a deer during a archery late hunt.  I was thinking about taking him up to unit 124.  I heard there is a lot of public land and to be honest we do not care if it is a doe or if it has horns.  I have a lot of rifle spots over here on the east side but he wants to try his luck with a bow.  Any input on 124?
Good luck to all you archery hunters.  Shoot straight.

124 is actually mostly private.  BUT with that being said IEP owns a lot of land in this area.  They do sell a permit for it though.  There are small parcels of public land but they get hunted pretty hard by everyone else.   :twocents:

If you are looking for a late season spot I can hook you up. It's private. Nothing real big shows up but if its for a kid I would love to help out. PM me. If he wants an early season buck I can point you in some good directions to ask for permission. PM me on how you feel about baiting and when he can go.

If you are truly doing this for a kid PM me. I think I can help you out.
