Bear down!
« on: September 12, 2013, 03:29:00 AM »
It's late and I'm amped I downed my first bear tonight.  Looking for suggestions on somewhere fairly local to shelton to take it to get a rug made. Please and thank you. I seen all the sponsors but would be nice to know first hand who is good. This is my first bear and will be my only taxidermy ever. Any ballpark price on getting it done too?? Thanks a ton guys. Awesome group of people

It should cost you about $150 a foot. Dave McMinnis is in Shelton and I hear he does good work. Congrats. Any pics?

IMO For your first mount don't go cheep. Even though it seems like the more you pay the longer you wait. But in the end you will have a mount to be proud of. Get a hold of Bucklucky, Charlies taxidermy in tenino.  I don't know if he is hunting right now, but he is the first one to call for me. Here is his website. Looks like about a grand for a bear rug after tax.
