mouth calls vs. electronic calls

I have used both mouth calls and electronic calls. I use the primos lil' dog, and the Foxpro XR6. The foxpro sounds extremely good to me and i have called in a couple of yotes with it but i honestly have not done nearly as good with it as i have with my mouth call. What are all your thoughts on this?

Which have you used more? Could it be a numbers things? Using the mouth call more could lead to more called in.

mouth calls for me,I get more satisfaction that way and its just plain cool  that im in control.Im not nuch of a gimmick guy.I just like to rely on my skills.

i make call's for a living. but i also use Foxpro's. i use the foxpro on cougar and some bear stand's alot. ive had to many cougar's and bobcat's behind me. if i stuck with hand call's on bear, bobcat and coyote. i would kill more. i think it has to do with the emotion you put into a call. ive called way more with hand call's.Rick

I use both and wouldn't go out without a mouth call around my neck.  That said I think I kill more of the dogs called with a remote electric call that I do with a hand call because I can sent up to cover the down wind side of the call with out my scent flowing down wind of the call.  I also can watch  the terrain better not having to fool with the mouth call and I can sit there with less movement.

I also so have a minor case of asthma and long sessions on a mouth call can end in a coughing spell that pretty much ruins a stand.

I like both but only use mouth calls for bear and cats.  I can't seem to get the volume or the emotions with the elec calls I get with my mouth calls.

I use both, but mainly the electronic.  Always have my mouth calls with me since you never know when those batteries with go Tango Uniform.  Night hunting I use mouth calls almost exclusively.  Need them dogs looking right at the light.

I agree 100% and have had the same results. That is why someday I want to record my hand calls to play on my ecall.

i used the call for an entire week last winter and only could call in one coyote, and he was still real cautious on coming in... i got sick of it and went out a week and a half later and used my mouth call and within 25 minutes i had two coyotes ontop of me. and three days later i called one in after 45 minutes of calling and killed him too. i just couldnt understand what it was that they didnt like about the foxpro

 :)I did that BTKR, with a tiny call I call the peeper. It works really well, killed a few coyotes using it, makes sort of a high pitched bird sound.

I use both, I think more come in with mouth calls but the scorpian being away from me is a great coaxer at low volume.

I like to hand call, I personally do not own a e-caller but my huntin pardner has one and it never seems to make it on any of the trips anymore. It's just one more thing to purchase and have to pack around and take care of, our packs are full of enough crap already, I don't believe that using it has shown us any real advantage over a handcall. I can also change my calling sounds and volume a lot faster than a e-caller. We do use a battery operated decoy every once in a while that we made from a old motorized duck decoy that works pretty good.

I use both. I like the e-caller for howls. Then I use hand calls for distress sounds.  I think both have there place. The biggest mistake guys make is using the e-callers at to high of a volume. My foxpro is very loud but when the front speaker is on and pointed away from you it doesn't sound very loud at all. Last year I called in more yotes than ever using the foxpro but they seemed to hang up further away. I think the volume was way to loud. This sept I took it out and turned the volume down quite a bit and brought a double in to 100 yards and was able to get both. I'm getting the itch real bad right now since deer, elk, and bear are done for me.
