Goose guide recommendations
« on: September 28, 2013, 10:32:23 AM »
I was wondering if any of you have any recommendations for a goose guide? I'm getting married this year and wanting to get my dad and brother a guided hunt with me as a gift.  I've never booked a hunt before so wanted to get some feedback. I've looked into Burbank and north flight so far, but I respect all information and recommendations on this site.

Thanks

Both are good guide services, cant go wrong either way.

Might check out this one too:

Mark is a great guy.

Heard lots of good things about these guys too but haven't hunted with them.

If you are wanting to shoot out of layout blinds so you can watch the birds work you'll want to talk with them before you book.

I would good with eagle lakes ranch hands down.  I went there for some direct drive hunts a few years ago and they had a policy if they don't get you into limit hunting opportunity then you can reschedule for another hunt later down the road which I had to use on one bust at no extra cost.  Expensive but worked great as insurance in case of the skunk.  Also if they don't have geese to hunt for some reason then there is ducks but you don't have to take the offer. Their web site sucks but they have birds and worth giving a call.

That dude over at burbank is, let just say one of a kind and not in a good way.  I have talked to other hunters who have hunted with them and sounds like they stuff clients in a hole and they don't see the light of day until the guide opens the pit door.
Don't read my post if facts hurt your feeling.

Big guns outfitters. Owned and operated by Bill Saunders. My buddy John is a guide for them. They will treat you right. Hunt around Burbank mostly. Pit blinds in corn fields. It's a fun hunt

Have hunted lots with Meesbergs in Moses Lake.  They put on a great trip and have never been disappointed. Levi and Mike are a lot of fun!!
