Any Deer hunting guides for Eastern WA?
« on: September 22, 2013, 12:51:20 AM »
Getting back into hunting, have not hunted since high school.
Would like to hunt in Eastern WA.
But wow guides are like $2500!
Live in Seattle and don't have time this year to scout way out East. So a guide would be great.
Anyone out there that can guide me (and maybe one other friend) in Eastern WA to a good spot t hunt?
Willing to pay well for this, just not $2500!
Like to have help scouting a good area and finding spots to setup and wait.

Also if anyone can guide in central WA that works also, just hear Eastern is by far the best.

Thanks!
Craig

I use to own a guise service most people don't understand the overhead to run a guide service. The fuel alone to do all the scouting and what have you. Don't forget about vehicle maintenance ,insurance, taxes, employees, cost to lease properties. 2,500 isn't bad of a deal once the guide pays for his cost on a 5 day hunt he is only going to keep about 30-40% hard to make a living if you charge some one cheap...plus you get what you pay for.

 :yeah:

$2,500 would be a bargain for a fully guided hunt. Good luck finding something cheaper.

I've looked into guided hunts and then looked into the references for the cheap ones. Apparently, you get what you pay for. PM bearpaw. He comes highly recommended.

Check with YJ guide service on here as well.  Iv'e never done a guided hunt but I wouldn't be too surprised if this late in the year you don't find any openings though.   :twocents:

If you want to see what trying to save a few bucks will get you research Barbour outfitters on this site.  I haven't used a guide ever, but I would think 2500 would be a steal for a decent deer hunt.

Thanks for all the advice. At Bearpaw looks like I can do $550 for a 3-day Buck hunt. It isn't fully guided but looks like a nice deal. Would like to do fully guided, but don't have that kind of $.

Unguided Economy Hunts
These hunts include lodging, meals, directions on how and where to hunt, and use of the game skinning and cleaning facilities. You can ask specific questions and advice to help with your hunt each day.
5-Day Buck Hunt........$750
3-Day Buck Hunt........$550
2-Day Doe Hunt..........$350
Add Extra Days...........$50

Go with Dale !
I know how he runs his business and have worked for him guiding turkey hunts. Dale has some real nice properties, and A+ service. And Tara is a great cook too.
