I'm trying to put my efforts into elk hunting this year but my heart is still in spot & stalk mule deer. Anyhow, I wanted to fill my deer tag quickly so I could put my late season efforts into elk since I blanked in the early season. We'll see how that goes but I'm missing my Okanogan muleys.

Very poor this year where you hunt anyways.  I think you made the right choice.
Been tough up in the Okanogan for a few years now. Last year I held out for a nice muley buck for 6 days. Didn't even see a single horn till the eve of the 6th day hunting and it was a 2pt. Ended up shooting a mature muley doe. Didn't even see any deer sign in some of my "go to" spots. I think we need more wolves and cougars.

You noticed how poor it was last year.  This year is twice as bad.  No joke at all.  Granted, there are deer in the area, but numbers are WAY down, and I have no clue which direction the quality bucks went either.

Thanx on the shot. That's the exit. She was up hill from me. The entrance hole is on the opposite rib but about 2-3" lower.

Congrats Sako!  Nothing wrong with a Blackie doe.  They make fine table fare.
