Ive been looking for a new R-15 or R-25 and haven't seen one on a shelf in almost a year.I wasnt seeing them even before things got crazy.Did they cut back production or did something change I dont know about?Has anyone seen one and where?I called Federal Way Discount and they said they can order me one for $1089 which is fine... but they said they can't guarantee they'll get it in the next 8-10 months.I realize there are a few on Gunbroker and other sites but the selection there is even very limited compared to other AR-15 platforms. Thanks

Does it have to be a Remington R-15/25?You could probably buy or build a very similar, superior AR rifle for the same or less cost.
The camo on the Remingtons looks good to me, but if you don't mind basic black, the R-15 is a Bushmaster and the R-25 is a DPMS. All three companies are owned by Freedom Group. http://www.freedom-group.com/After looking around locally for an R-25 and seeing the prices where they were bringing on Gunbroker, I bought a DPMS Lite Hunter in 338 Federal for about $250 less. .308s seem to be about the same.
given, that your willing to pay 1500 including tax, and a few or more hundred more for scope, rings, riser, and bipod, extra mags etc.....ya really might want to look at the one in the classified here....if accuracy and noise are important to you, ya might want to reconsider the 18 inch, jmho...

I've got a 14" 243 Savage Striker. Loud. Lotsa flame with factory ammo. Also very accurate. Faster burning powders make a big difference but not sure you can mess around too much on a semi-auto and still have the correct volume of gas to run it. Sounds like you know exactly what you want, but even with an 18" barrel it is still a big heavy gun. Not sure 2" will make a big difference in handling but it will make a difference in muzzle blast and velocity.

A 20" or 22" barrel would be fine but... to my knowledge they don't offer the adjustable stock with any barrel lengths besides 18". I've also read some and looked at a bunch of reviews on the 18" vs 20"/22" and have yet to find any complaints about accuracy or noise but I am a rookie to this AR stuff so these hints and ideas are appreciated.
I have not see any sitting around yet. There is a few on gun broker. If you are interested there is the big 3 day gun show coming up in a week in Portland.
Ouch and it's been a year! That is pretty harsh. Sounds like my wait on my cans
