You shouldn't have a problem killing a cow in a couple of days.  :dunno: Had cow tags 2 of the last 5 yrs and filled them in a couple of days for 4 people.

I agree either muzzle loader or rifle should have good odds if you have a couple of days.
Archery is a little tougher just due to how close you need to get.
In God we trust, all others bring cash.

Do not say, Why were the old days better than these? For it is not wise to ask such questions.

Was up in the nw corner of the unit Thursday and Saturday watched a couple of cows and a 4x5 take their time moving off the road on thurs  and saw 3 single smaller bulls on sat.   Archery guys must not have hit it too hard as they seemed un pressured.  Be ready to walk as most gates are still locked.

I would try anything off the 4100 or the 4250.

Hey! I'm not a complete idiot I have parts missing. Though sometimes I wonder.

You shouldn't have any trouble finding a cow in the Toutle. If you get one and need help shoot me a PM, I don't live far from that area.

From what I am hearing the gates aren't open down there in the Toutle yet??????   My son has a Rifle elk tag in there starting Nov. 2nd.  I hope the gates are open by then.

I'm pretty sure they will open it up for rifle season. They always do.

Anywhere off the 4100 will work, just drive around and you'll see them.  I'd get up high in the AM and start driving back down in the PM.   Glass the clearcuts and edges of timber.   You shouldn't have a problem.  I drew the rifle tag last year and hunted two days.  First day was pissing rain and gusts up to 50mph, second day was clear and dry - found a few herds an picked on off.  Shoot uphill, not down for easier packouts. :)
