First muley buck down (pics added)
« on: October 05, 2013, 07:00:28 AM »
Got my first muley ever lastnight just before shooting hour.  He is in a pretty tough spot so we had to leave him over night. Gutted, propped open, left sweaty shirts on him, and moved thr gut pile 50 ft away from him. Heading out in a few for retrieval, pics to follow!!! Slow going this morning!!!

Update. We got to him and he was in perfect shape ...but still in a bad spot. Had to drag hime 80yds uphill, then 200 yds side hill, and then 300 yds down hill. My wife, buddy and myself were beat after that... but I was still smilling. We ended up with 2 bucks for the trip between 3 tags. He is 25" wide inside spread. A great Ewa trip with the family.

Kyle,

You needed to come over and learn how to process your own. Nothing more satisfying than watching a deer go from the hoof to table fare.

Ryan,

I have done a little before, but you do make a valid point. We didn't have any room with the deer and the bear and we had a few days left up there still without a place to store it. The butcher seemed like a good option, plus he does a great job at a great price. Seems we don't have to do the late season thing this year huh? Pressure is on the old men.

:yeah: I agree. The low wide rack is cool and unique.

Not something that you're likely to hear in a strip club, but it fits here in this forum post.
