:sry:Sorry guys Been super busy workn long hours havnt had much screen time lately lol.  Nope must not have been me, im not a ford guy.....

So I got out before daylight got my pack on and started my hike...  Got in were I wanted to be right before daylight.  I had been seeing a good amount of elk sign in this timber patch, caught a glimpse of them but no close encounters.  I started slinking in vary vary slowly stopping every few steps to look around for yellow deer.  Cut some fresh tracks looked like from the evening before. So I started to follow them FOREVER....   but they were fresher so I kept is low and slow and took my time, not wanting to get busted.  Im going and going and im starting to think maybe they are moving faster than I am or something and im just going too slow to catch up and  then.....  I smell that musky smell every elk hunter knows and loves! I smelled elk and it was strong.  I take a few more steps and I see a bed.. I put my hand down... ITS WARM!  O SH*%T.   My heart is picking up at this point.  There is a small knob off to my right were the tracks head.   I peek up over the hill and I see a tip of a horn moving back and forth.... he must have just got up and went out into this tiny opening and was feeding.  BUT all I can see is like 4" of the tip of the horn. There is one little spot in the branches you could see.  And getting much closer wasn't my best option.    So I managed to work a few more yards closer. now I can just see his head....damn. He picks his head up real quick.. I FreeZe.  (thought for sure he  was gonna hear my heart pounding!) finally he takes a step puts his head back down and stops, putting the ol shoulder in the opening!  Let one fly and the rest is history!  Dirt Nap. Lots of Packing lol.  WA OTC bull.   Thanks Guys
