Waterfowl Comp Week 3 Oct 25th-October 31st
« on: October 27, 2008, 10:06:24 AM »
Ok guys, sorry I was deer hunting all last week on Saturday.  I did go out on Wednesday and shot three ducks, but cleaned them before I could access a camera.  So I have no picture proof.  Anyways, I'll need someone to post Week 4/5 thread since I'll be at Elk Camp!

Team: Bill collectors

Slow week again, 3 hens....still haven't shot a mature drake we're gettin a little pissed.

Sunday 26th: 2 hen mallard, hunting together
Wednesday 29th: 1 hen gadwall (thought at first widgeon) hunting together

That's why it's called hunting and not killing.

we hunted together on saturday and got 1 drake mallard and 1 hen mallard =7 points
Sunday hunted by myself and shot 2 drakes=2 points.

when i say hunted by myself i really mean that i hunted with the loudest, most hyperactive child on the planet instead of my hunting partner. I think there should be 100 bonus points given for shooting any duck while hunting with my kid. :chuckle:

An "experienced " ducker like Silky will be needed to ID that bird.  ;)

Never mind the widgeon ID looked her up.

Gadwall hen, she had a bright white breast and black flanks on the wing primaries.

That's why it's called hunting and not killing.
