Benelli Nova (I think it broke it)
« on: October 16, 2013, 12:19:04 PM »
I've got a Benelli Nova that has huge issues with not firing. If I take it out in Temps. below 36 degrees it won't fire! Has anyone ever heard of this sort of thing happening before? It's the most maddening thing to happen when you've got a flock of green heads over head!!!  :bash: :bash: :bash:

Thanks a lot CP! That helps a lot. I'm hoping my hunting season goes a bit better this year than last! Thanks again

Benelli click is typically a sign with the auto loaders when softly engaging the bolt forward.  If the gun is clean it will slam shut and you are good to go.  On the nova I experienced this when firing pin became gummed or dirty.  Typically only when dirty.  Take the bolt apart and clean firing pin and spring.  Use a pipe cleaner and clean.  Don't use oil.  Should fix issue.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!

Yup.  Usually if a gun works at normal temps, but not at cold it needs to be cleaned.  Works at normal temps but not at hot temps, needs to be lubed better.  Can't get away from science.
The only difference between a butt kisser and a brown noser is depth perception.
