Interesting rifle lokidog. oneshot12, glad smiths are still making a good smokepole that shows they are effective with a decent buck. MountainDevil54, that's a fine looking squirrel rifle or Pdog rifle, but I suppose if something bigger came along, there shouldn't be to much of a problem with it.

exposed cap is still the law in WA right? some of these muzzys seemed sealed

The Knight Disc Extreme and Ultralight have a small opening in the bolt which exposes the cap.  I'm not sure about the vortec.

mine  is a custom  made 54 cal  36 " barrel 1.66 twist  Green Mt  barrel  this is the one that I  really enjoy shooting the most!     My Remington  S/S 54 cal  in line has a  thumb hole stock use it when the weather is nasty and don't want to mess up the good one    both are good  shooters

Sweet rifle oneshot!  I really like the traditional ones too.  I have two flintlocks I built from track of the wolf parts.  One is a 42 1/2 inch barrel southern mtn rifle, 50 cal.  I killed one muley buck with it.  The other is a 32 inch barrel full stock hawken style, .54 cal.  I've killed 3 elk and 4 muleys with it.  They both have green mountain barrels, 1:66 twist, and shoot patched round balls and traditional black powder.  If I miss it's my fault because the guns will shoot touching bullet holes.

CVA Elkhorn. I have it setup for Oklahoma but have since added quick detach rings so I can remove the scope and make it legal for here and switch the ignition system is easy.
