Clement Mountain Heads Up
« on: October 19, 2013, 05:32:53 PM »
Apparently, there have been some mud slides that closed some roads.
Check with Oak Creek for the details.
Gathering is easy. Hunting is a challenge.

This is old news. Looks like the op doesn't know this happened a month and a half ago.

The message when you call Oak Creek is fairly recent.

the slides happened the same night as the 410 mudslide that happened on September 5th. I would say that 44 days is not recent.

Some hunters show up for the first time just days prior to opening day.
You are lucky you are already there. When we went to deer camp we arrived the day before the opener.
Many times prior to opening day of elk, we arrived at camp a couple of days prior.
We did not have the time or resources to check out the area out prior to the opener.
When you have to drive 4 hours one way on a Saturday and 4 hours Sunday morning there is not a lot of time.
Family responsibilities come first. I do not have sick or vacation leave. Many others do not either.
My hunting partner is unemployed and spending money on gas is a big deal.
For me, scouting a weekend costs a over a hundred fifty and sometimes more.
Gathering is easy. Hunting is a challenge.
